Statues
(You may click here to find information about Catholics and statues.)
Like a cloud of witnesses, statues of the saints surround a lighted tableau of the crucifixion. (see picture below)
At the top and center of the reredos, flanked by trumpet-playing angels, is our patron St. Peter. On the top left as you face the altar is St. Agnes, and on the top right is St. Anthony of Padua, depicted holding the child Jesus.
In the center on the left is a statue showing the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and on the right, the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
A large, lifelike crucified Christ is in the center, with his mother Mary and St. John praying to the left and right.
On the bottom level, you can find St. Jude on the left, and on the right a depiction of St. Ann and the child Mary.
Finally, under the center crucifixion scene there are two paintings. The one on the left depicts the Sublime Obedience of Abraham (Genesis 22: 1-18, and in the one on the right Melchisedec blesses Abram (Genesis 14: 18-20).
The four evangelists are shown on the base of the altar of sacrifice in the center of main altar area.

In addition to the statuary, the brightly colored stained glass windows invite the worshiper to deeper contemplation of the glorious mysteries of the rosary, the life of St. Peter, and images of apparitions experienced by well-known and beloved saints, among others.
