Kolbe Hall is the name for the gathering room in the lower level of the church. It is used by the parish for meals, youth group meetings, adult education, marriage preparation weekends, and a variety of other events.
Kolbe Hall is named after St. Maximilian Kolbe, the Polish priest who was starved and dehydrated to nearly to death (ultimately he was executed by injection with carbolic acid because he miraculously survived the starvation) in a Nazi concentration camp during World War II.
A carved image of St. Maximilian Kolbe can be found in Kolbe Hall. It is one of the many sacred images you can see when you visit St. Peter Catholic Church!
