nspired by the lives of the Saints and the classic movie, The Dead Poet's Society, The Dead Theologian's Society is an organization whose mission is to pray for the release of the Holy Souls in Purgatory and to educate young adults in the Catholic faith using the lives and writings of the saints.

The Dead Theologians Society was started in November of 1997, in Newark, Ohio by Eddie Cotter Jr. and Michael Barone. It began as an addition to the other teen oriented programming they were doing at St. Francis de Sales parish in Newark. DTS has been rapidly growing ever since. Now we're international, with groups meeting throughout the US, and several outside of the US.

Society members study the lives and writings of the Saints and seek their intercession. In addition, belonging to the Church Militant, members make use of time-honored Catholic prayers and devotions such as Eucharistic Adoration, the Rosary, the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, the Divine Praises, the St. Gertrude's Prayer, and intercessory prayer.
