Next Men of Christ Meeting

posted by Phil Lawson

The next Men of Christ gathering is Tuesday, June 17th

600AM-Meet in Church for Morning Prayer & Teaching
630AM-Meet at Perkins for breakfast

Pope Benedict has been doing a weekly teaching on the saints of the early Church. Yesterday he discussed St. Columban, one of the great Irish saints born about 543AD. He entered the monastic life at age 20. And lived a holy life in the monastery. At age 50 God called him to go forth from the monastery to re-evangelize Europe, which he did with 12 companions. (Note there's a nice article in this week's Catholic Times-the diocesan newspaper about Deacon David Rybicki--he was just ordained..at age 60 after being a high school teacher for many years!).

We'll talk more about St. Columban Tuesday morning.

To accomodate more people, we're going to try and do some evening sessions this summer. The July 1st Men of Christ will take place at 630PM--with some teaching by Fr. Louis, Evening Prayer, and probably a bite to eat.
